New Update
Sorcererhat updates SongCapsule Quiz with new game rules, leaderboards, and more
The new 1.2 version includes a fresh experience for all players
Sorcererhat today updated SongCapsule Quiz to version 1.2, introducing a series of new rules to make the game more fun and fair for everyone — along with new playlists and leaderboards for added competition.
New Game Rules
The first major change is that players must now complete all levels in a playlist before they can replay previous ones. This encourages players to keep progressing through the game in order to earn more points, rather than constantly replaying the easier levels. Once you’ve completed 100% of a playlist, you’ll be able to replay any level freely.
Additionally, points earned in each level will now count only for that specific level, with no surplus carrying over to the next. For example: previously, if you had 9,500 points on level 1 (which has a cap of 10,000) and scored 1,000 in a quiz, you would end up with 10,000 on level 1 and automatically unlock level 2 with the 500 extra points. Now, you’ll still finish level 1 with 10,000 points, but start level 2 at 0, needing to play a quiz on that level to earn points.
To further enhance competitiveness, only quizzes played on the highest available level for each player will send points to Game Center. This change ensures fairer leaderboards by preventing players from endlessly farming easier levels (after 100% completion) to climb the rankings. Now, you can be sure that everyone is playing at the highest difficulty available when competing on the leaderboards.
New Leaderboards
With this release, SongCapsule Quiz introduces four new artist playlists where fans can compete: Britney Spears, Lana Del Rey, Sabrina Carpenter, and The Weeknd.
We’ve also updated the Playlists tab to show all Sorcererhat Playlists by default, even if they’re not in your music library — which is no longer required to play a quiz. You can hide playlists you don’t want to see in SongCapsule Quiz by going to Settings > Hidden Playlists, a feature we brought over from SongCapsule.
